VTM STUDIO GOES HDTV WITH ZANDAR MULTIVIEWERS

Zandar
Technologies has announced its continuing success in providing
affordable HD solutions to key broadcasters worldwide with
Belgium
's leading commercial
channel VTM the latest client to install
Zandar
HDTV Predator MultiViewers
in its new high profile multi format HDTV studio.
The
Brussels
based broadcaster
has recently invested heavily in upgrading its biggest studio to
HDTV production standards. This state of the art complex originates
many of
Belgium
's most popular
programmes and is fully equipped with a HDTV system infrastructure
but can operate in either HDTV or SDI domains, according to the
future production requirements.
Camera, studio and mixer monitoring is displayed
in the control gallery via the powerful image processing of
Zandar
Predator MultiViewers. Commenting
on their choice Jozef Mertens,Technical Director at VTM explains,
"After extensive market evaluation we decided upon the Predator
products because they are small, occupying only 1RU and
automatically detect HDTV and SDI signals, which is vitally
important in a multi format environment. What's more they provide
a high resolution DVI-D output which allows us to view the images
at the highest quality level".
The Predator range offers significant cost
savings over the use of HD monitors making affordable HDTV
monitoring a reality for VTM. Clement
van Dinter of system integrator Lines Broadcast Systems adds,
"Predators are a perfect fit for this system and the most cost
effective solution for our customer, VTM. In addition we have also
installed several
Zandar
DX
Series units which interface with the routers to provide in vision
UMD and tally display on each channel. With

Launched last year, the Predator bridges the gap
between SDI and HDTV as it provides the flexibility to work in
either domain. The reclocked looping inputs reduce overall system
costs, while the DVI-D output can display up to 1920x1080 at 50Hz
giving sharp and clear images.
