MULTIPLE MONITORING MULTIVIEWERS AT NAB 05!

March 15th 2005

Dublin, 14 March 2005 - Zandar Technologies, a leading technology innovator and pioneer in MultiViewer systems, will exhibit its exciting range of high quality multi-image display solutions at NAB 2005 on booth SU8367, in the South Hall, Upper Level of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This year's NAB event comes at a time when the company continues its expansion following a decade of product innovation and continuous growth. Zandar Technologies recently relocated to prestigious new premises from where it launches its 2005 NAB campaign with a full product showing.

The booth will feature four key product lines; the FusionPro, Predator, DX and MX Series MultiViewers, reflecting the choice and scalability that is popular with broadcasters worldwide.

As the span of broadcast technology ever increases so does Zandar's range of products, meeting new MultiViewer and monitoring applications which include interfacing with ever increasing new IT technologies. “For Zandar, the convergence of broadcast and IT is accelerating,” explains Deirdre Smith, CEO of Zandar Technologies. “At NAB 05, we will be showcasing a range of flexible solutions that not only reflects these changes, such as the feature enhancements to our flagship display processor solution, the FusionPro, but will also demonstrate that our product range can match the specific requirements of any display and monitoring environment“.

The modular FusionPro Series already supports simultaneous use of broadcast video and computer sources for output to numerous high resolution displays and features audio metering, in vision UMD and tally displays as well as up to 26 pictures from a neat 3RU system. LAN connectivity provides a single interface for control and configuration, marking the trend towards integrated IT and broadcast systems.

With installs in many leading broadcast companies throughout the world and sales having doubled in USA during the last year, several new features of FusionPro shall be showcased at NAB including support for DVI inputs, the addition of output display support for the SXGA Plus resolution of 1400x1050, and a new Big Picture output and Preview Window feature. This latest new feature facilitates the switching of a selected input into the user selected Preview Window, generally the largest window (or Big Picture) within the display. It is a very useful tool for previewing a source before broadcast or to enlarge that source for closer scrutiny, without occluding the other inputs.

Addressing HDTV applications, the new Predator HD Series being exhibited at this year’s show is an excellent solution for broadcast monitoring applications where image quality is of critical importance. The razor sharp picture quality is derived from powerful new image processing technology. Driven by the need for cost-effective display of HDTV sources, the new compact Predator HD4 provides significant cost savings over the use of HDTV monitors, making affordable HDTV applications a reality.
The compact HD4 Quad auto detects standard SDI and HD SDI signals, allowing both formats to be used seamlessly together for easy and cost effective migration to HD. The product has a host of outstanding features, including embedded audio monitoring, signal loss detection, and supports various HDTV 1080i and 720p formats. Common widescreen display resolutions such as 1280x768, 1024x768 and 1400x1050 are also included ensuring the Predator has the sharpest picture around!
Also on display is the revolutionary DX Series which, having blazed the trail of the now familiar MultiViewer market, has well over 1000 units installed around the globe. The DX is the first to introduce automatic input signal detection, whether analog or digital (SDI), enabling users to support legacy equipment as they move to digital.

Positioned more favourably than ever to satisfy the dynamic and changing broadcast, security and surveillance markets, Zandar remains a visionary in global MultiViewer and monitoring system solutions. With a worldwide user base the applications for Zandar’s expansive product range are enormous and varied. Turner broadcast in USA uses Zandar’s DX MultiViewers to monitor over 1000 channels, while the FusionPro Series provides interactive displays for televised game shows by both TV-8 in Singapore and Telecino in Spain and offers high quality displays for the intensive aircraft training of the US Air Forces’ fighter pilots amongst numerous unique applications throughout the world.
