NEW PREDATOR AT IBC 2004

Hungry to satisfy the new worldwide HDTV market, the new Predator
high resolution MultiViewer Series is the latest in a long tradition
of Zandar’s IBC new product releases.
For many years Zandar Technologies has led the world in multi-image
displays and once again introduces an innovative new product line,
called the Predator Series. Recognising the transition to HDTV,
the first Predator launch is the HD4. This HD Quad has auto sensing
inputs allowing both HDTV and legacy SDI (270Mb/s) signals to be
used in the same device, easing the migration from analogue and
SDI to HDTV signal formats. Driven by the need for cost-effective
display of HDTV channels, the Predator HD4 provides significant
space and cost savings over the use of multiple HDTV displays.
Predator HD4 sets new standards in the high quality affordable HDTV
image display with its multiple output resolutions to suit a wide
range of Plasma, LCD and video projection display devices. Following
in the footsteps on the DX and Fusion Series products, this new
Series provides embedded audio monitoring with in-picture bar graphs
giving users visual assurance of audio level and negating the need
for multiple audio monitors.
In keeping with market changes and the tradition of multi-image
displays specialists, the Predator Series includes many useful features
as standard. An integral, user configurable alarm system negates
the need for external monitoring equipment by providing users with
automatic warnings in the event of failure of numerous picture and
audio elements. The signal detection and monitoring facilities alert
users to video and audio loss or degradation, such as loss of video
sync, frozen picture and black picture detection. Furthermore, Predator’s
open architecture allows it to display UMD and tally information
from external devices such as third party routing and tally systems.
Predator HD4’s video processing engine delivers high resolution
outputs and is neatly packed within a 1RU chassis. It has
4 auto detecting HDTV and SDI inputs, accepting both 720p and 1080i
HDTV formats, and provides multiple output resolutions in quad and
full screen mode, including wide screen resolutions common to Plasma
and LCD displays. User set-up is via intuitive onscreen displays
and a remote control panel is also available.
The newly available Predator HD4 is ideally suited to control room
and OB truck applications where it provides a comprehensive feature
set at very affordable prices. Once again this is another fine example
of Zandar’s leadership in MultiViewer products and technology.
