SUCCESS AT NAB FOR NEW PREDATOR HDTV MULTIVIEWER FROM ZANDAR

Predator, the new standalone high resolution MultiViewer Series,
was among many of Zandar’s NAB product launches and received
overwhelming acclaim at the show. Reaction to the HDTV Predator
on display was enormously positive from the company’s worldwide
distributors and prestigious broadcast users. It is clear that the
new high quality, affordable HDTV Predator follows in Zandar’s
tradition of setting the standards for innovation and performance
in the MultiViewer market.
The Predator Series is the latest generation of Zandar’s world
leading MultiViewers and this new product, the HD4, addresses the
transition to HDTV with four auto sensing inputs allowing both HDTV
and legacy SDI (270Mb/s) signals to be used simultaneously, making
it ideal for early adopters of HDTV. It also provides significant
cost savings over the use of HD monitors.
Characteristically, the Predator HD4 provides multiple output resolutions
and supports the use of a wide range of display devices, including
Plasma and LCD. It has embedded audio monitoring with in-picture
bar graphs giving users assurance of audio level and presence. The
comprehensive fault detection facilities provide automatic warnings
in the event of failure of numerous picture and audio elements which
trigger alarms upon loss of sync, frozen picture and black picture.
This is highly advantageous to users, saving time and negating the
need for external monitoring equipment. Furthermore, Predator’s
open architecture will allow it to display UMD and tally information
from external devices such as third party routing systems.
Predator HD4’s video processing engine delivers high resolution
outputs and is neatly packed within a 1RU chassis. It has
4 auto detecting HDTV and SDI inputs, accepting both 720p and 1080i
HDTV formats, and provides multiple output resolutions in quad and
full screen mode, including wide screen resolutions common to Plasma
and LCD displays. User set-up is via intuitive onscreen displays
and a remote control panel is also available.
The newly available Predator HD4 is ideally suited to control room
and OB truck applications where it provides a comprehensive feature
set at very affordable prices.
