Australian
national broadcaster ABC Television has purchased five Predator HD
MultiViewers from Zandar Technologies for use in the HD Studio of
its facility in Ultimo, New South Wales. The units were supplied
through Techtel, a leading independent supplier to the broadcast
television, radio and communications markets of
Australia
,
New
Zealand
, and
South-East
Asia
and were integrated into the HD Studio system by
Thomson
Grass
Valley
.
ABC
explained they used four Predator HD4s and a Predator HD12 providing
them with multiple image monitoring in various parts of the HD
Studio control room. All the systems are fed with HD-SDI sources and
output to 32-inch LCD panels, providing them with multiple image
monitoring in various parts of the HD Studio control room.
Zandar's
Predator HD4 accepts up to four HD or SDI inputs in a 1U rack
package, while the HD12 offers 12 inputs in a 2U enclosure. Both
models feature Zandar's ZdHT Dual Head display capability, which
means they can drive one or two monitors as independent displays or
configured as a single, virtual monitor wall.

is just one example of ABC Television's usage of Zandar units -
they've been using the equipment for a few years now," reveals
