MultiViewer technology from Zandar Technologies,
a leading technology innovator and pioneer in MultiViewer systems, has been installed in one of Russia's leading TV channels,
TRK5. Based in
Saint-Petersburg, TRK5 uses the FusionPro+ to process video and audio signals for the
display on a 16-display videowall in its sports news department, and
the second unit is used with a four-display videowall in a talk-show
studio. The latter setup
is configured so that the four displays can be used to display a
large single image.
The
Zandar units were specified by systems integrator Viking. Anastasia
Mikhailova, marketing manager for Viking

, takes up the
story:
"We
specify this equipment to all of our broadcasting and television
studio clients due to the advanced image processing qualities and
competitive price. Our
client, TRK5 required a solution that would combine multiple inputs
in all the commonly used formats such as HD, SDI, analogue video,
DVI, and RGBHV computer sources, as well as audio. We specified
FusionPro+ because it can handle all those formats simultaneously.
It's also worth noting that the MultiViewers are integrated
with Mitsubishi DDP60 display panels."
Mikhailova
adds that ease of setup and use has been key to the success of the
installation: "Zandar's Z-Configurator layout editing software
is very powerful, and has made system setup really effortless. The
Graphic User Interface makes operation uncomplicated and has
obviated the need for our customer's operators to undergo any
special training."
Both
display systems are managed from control rooms some 70 metres away
from the signal sources, with signals being routed from the
MultiViewers to the walls in RGB format. TRK5
is also using Zandar's Dual Head capability, meaning that displays
can be driven independently or configured as a single, virtual
monitor wall.
