zandar hd8 multiviewers
are "driving hd" for alfacam ob fleet
August 15th 2007
Dublin, 15 August 2007 - In what is one of the largest broadcast installation of MultiViewers in Europe, Zandar Technologies, a leading technology innovator and pioneer in MultiViewer systems, is providing over two-hundred Predator HD8 MultiViewer 1RU units to Alfacam, the Belgium-based Television Facilities Provider. The MultiViewers are to be integrated in eleven TV trucks and will be driving HD production and mixing monitoring. Alfacam will exhibit their newly-built OB30 HD vehicle to the international broadcast and production community at the upcoming IBC 2007 exhibition on stand 8.401.
Installed at the heart of the OB30 HD OB vehicle from Alfacam are twenty-eight integrated Predator HD8 MultiViewers. These are configured to use the DualQuadT functionality for the display of eight video inputs across two displays.
In the main production monitoring wall, the Predator HD8 MultiViewers are configured using the easy-to-use Z-Configurator software that routes any eight inputs to true native HD/SDI monitors with full dynamic UMD and Tally display. Predator HD8 MultiViewers will drive up to 1080p in single and dual output mode. The production console is designed for maximum flexibility and can be used from left to right and has additional sub mixing areas.
In the mixing area of OB30 HD, the Predator HD8 MultiViewers are fed signals from a routing switcher and provide up to thirty-two pictures in any configuration for display on 20-inch LCD monitors.
"We've had a long-standing relationship with Alfacam Television Facilities for many years and they were one of the first broadcast users of our introductory DX product range. Their recent investment in our Predator HD8 MultiViewers reflects a tried and tested method of broadcast monitoring" explains Deirdre Smith, CEO at Zandar Technologies.
"Because our OB vehicles are working on many events, our production needs are constantly changing" adds Gabriel Fehervari, CEO at Alfacam. "We chose the Zandar Predator HD8 MultiViewers due to the fact that they can split and change configurations at the simple press of a button as well as directly output to one or more monitors using the DualQuadT function. The MultiViewer is not linked to just one display. We also chose Zandar because of reliability, build quality and outstanding image quality. The support from Zandar also played an important factor in our decision making process."
"The Alfacam fleet of trucks are deployed around the world and used on a diverse range of high-profile projects such as international sporting events, operas, rock concerts and other events of which the images are shown around the world. We are showing the OB30 HD vehicle at IBC 2007 which has a state-of-the-art production and programme monitoring areas."
The last word goes to Lorraine Whelan, International Sales Director at Zandar Technologies, "Having our Predator HD8 equipment integrated inside OB30 HD on display at IBC is very exciting. We are certain that visitors will be impressed by the Predator HD8 MultiViewer in action and Driving HD signals."
